Setting
an
Angle
("Zeroing"
Out)
For
some
jobs,
you may
wish
to set a
particular angle
as a
reference point
from
which
you can
take measurements.
For
example,
you may
want
a 3°
surface displayed
as 0° so you
can
measure
all
other angles
from
this benchmark.
A
good
example
is
setting
the
blade angle
on a
radial-arm
saw.
You can
easily
use the
SmartLevel module
to set the
blade even
if
the
saw
table/bed
isn
't
perfectly
level.
Just
"zero"
out the
module
on the
table (set
it to
read
0.0°),
and
then
use the
module
to set the
blade
at the
proper angle
without
having
to
compensate
for the
out-of-level
condition
of
the
saw.
CAUTION:
If you set
your SmartLevel
to
read
0.0°
when
it is off
level,
you
must follow
the
Reset procedure before
you can
once again accurately
read
level
and
plumb
(see
Reset/SuperSet
button,
7-11).
